Lacy Thompson Memorial Hall

The Lacy Thompson memorial hall (Hallbankgate village hall) was built in 1891 and since then has been a valuable community asset to the Parish of Farlam. In the 1960’s it was gifted to the Parish.


The main hall measures approximately 20 metres by 7 metres wide and is marked out for badminton. In addition to the various badminton clubs, the hall is used for public music and theatre events as well as private parties, wedding receptions and Rainbows and Brownies, Keep fit clubs etc.


Facilities also include a large kitchen/meeting room, Ladies, Gents toilets and disabled toilets with a baby changing table.


The hall benefits from oil fired central heating as well as wall mounted electric heaters.


The hall is the responsibility of the Management Committee.


There is a resident caretaker who also looks after bookings.
